Cloud and DevOps: Controlled Operations Instead of Constant Firefighting

Cloud and DevOps at Onveda: releases run automatically, incidents report themselves, and your cloud bill stays easy to follow.

A release on Friday night, then a weekend on the phone: that is what operations without automation look like. We set up your pipeline, monitoring and infrastructure so that a release is routine. When monitoring flags an incident, you know before your customer does. We run platforms on Kubernetes, in Germany (Hetzner) or in your own infrastructure.

  • Releases on schedule: Every change runs through the same pipeline with the same tests. The date is set in advance, and nobody has to be on emergency duty for it.
  • See incidents early: Monitoring and alerts show which service is affected and since when. We take care of the root cause.
  • Start with an audit: We review your system in two weeks. You get a list of risks and the next steps, at a fixed price of €3,000 to €6,000.

What running without automation costs you

A deployment fails, and three developers spend an afternoon hunting for the bug. The store goes down, and the first you hear of it is a customer calling. More visitors then mean more stress for the team, because nobody knows how much load the system can take. We set up cloud and DevOps so these questions are answered in advance. The infrastructure lives as code in the repository. Every change runs through automated tests. Alerts reach your team before customers notice anything. Your developers get back to building features. We have worked with LANXESS since 2014, and the catalog system there holds more than 5 million items. Operations are part of every project we take on.

What changes for you

Faster releases

A finished feature no longer waits for the next bundled release date. It goes live as soon as the tests pass.

More load without rebuilding

Kubernetes starts additional instances as load rises. Beforehand, we test how much your system can handle.

Security built in

Who can access what is defined in code and logged. Security checks run with every release.

Costs under control

We size the infrastructure based on measured load. You see which service accounts for which part of the bill.

DevOps practices

  1. Changeversioned in the repository
  2. Automated testsif a test fails, nothing goes live
  3. Security checkruns with every release
  4. Deploymentno manual steps
  5. Monitoringalerts before customers notice

Repeatable infrastructure

We describe your cloud infrastructure as code (infrastructure as code). Every change is versioned and traceable. A new test environment takes a single command. Nobody has to remember which setting someone changed by hand two years ago.

Automated release processes

Every change goes through automated tests and is then deployed without manual steps. If a test fails, nothing goes live. Your developers write code instead of waiting for a deployment window. For the MySoftware download portal, Docker and CI/CD pipelines are part of the infrastructure.

Cloud services

Cloud migration

We map your current infrastructure: servers, databases, interfaces, dependencies. From that, we build a plan for the order in which systems move. We migrate step by step, and the old setup stays available until you sign off.

Cloud security

We control access through roles, encrypt data in transit and at rest, and log changes. If you want, your data stays in Germany (Hetzner) or in your own infrastructure.

Cloud optimization

We measure which resources your application actually uses and shut down what sits idle. We review response times and costs with you on a regular basis.

DevOps best practices

How we work on every project

  • Infrastructure as code: versioned and rebuildable at any time
  • Services in containers that scale individually
  • Automated security checks in every release
  • Access controlled through roles and logged
  • Monitoring with alerts: you see when a service goes down
  • Backups and recovery are part of the setup from the start

Cloud reference architecture

Cloud-native architecture in three layers

  1. FrontendCDN integration · static hosting · edge functions
  2. BackendContainers · microservices · API gateway
  3. DataManaged databases · caching layer · data analytics

Technology stack

Cloud providers

  • Amazon Web Services
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Google Cloud

Containers and orchestration

  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • AWS ECS/EKS

Automation and visibility

  • Automated deployment processes
  • Code releases with automated tests
  • Real-time monitoring and alerting

A two-week audit for your platform

We review your pipeline, infrastructure and monitoring. After two weeks, you have a list of risks and a plan for the next steps. The audit costs €3,000 to €6,000 at a fixed price. The intro call before it takes 30 minutes and is free. We work in English and German.
